Quick announcement for past and future clients…

As of December 2013 I will be taking a break from weddings. We’ve prayed a lot about this decision and, to be honest, I’m not sure where this break from photography will lead me. I don’t really have a game plan. Which is scary…and kind of awesome…

If you are a past client, PLEASE make a copy of your files. If you haven’t done so (and happen to have lost prints or CD’s) then you can purchase additional copies up until December 30, 2013. After that time I’ll be going through and removing galleries. I will be shooting weddings up until March so if you have a last minute wedding between now and then I’d be happy to talk with you about shooting it!

From back in the beginning when I was still shooting weddings on film to my clients with the studio…to clients all the way up until now…THANK YOU. I’ve worked my way into your homes and I’ve loved seeing your kids grow up and your lives being joined in marriage. I may go back to photography in a few years after I’ve had some time off and am able to relax a bit. I’ll still be shooting for dear friends and family members for free but not taking on any more regular clients. For close friends and family members, please don’t hesitate to ask because I will always photograph important events for you. This has always been my gift to you. I’m terrible at remembering birthdays or sending mail on time or even getting baby gifts to you before your kid is 2 but I DO love to photograph your families.

If you have any questions about the changes, feel free to email me at katecrafton@gmail.com. Thanks everyone! Love to you!

As of today EVERY order has gone out in the mail so within the week all clients waiting for their packages will have a little holiday cheer in their mailbox! Thank you to everyone who has made this year truly amazing for us. I realize scheduling during the move was insane for you (and us) but I wanted you all to know how thankful we are for you. I never could have imagined that I would have such a fulfilling job when I started years ago…and have been able to create these friendships with your families. I’ll be spending the next few months relaxing, finally finding time to finish decorating our new home and drinking in family time with my loves. So from our house to yours, happy holidays. I hope it’s filled with laughter, kisses and a little magic.

Hello friends!  We’ve been nomads for a month now and will officially be Arkansas residents as of Tuesday afternoon.  With this move comes the vision of slowing down in life.  Smaller town & more time with my kids.  Because of this we will be shooting local weddings again.  I’ll still be accepting travel weddings but most of my focus is going to turn toward being a local photographer.  Thanks to Nashville wedding photographer Phil Thornton for being our SEO guru and pushing me to start a clean, fresh site.  We “Crayons” love ya, Phil.  Hope everyone is having a fabulous summer and enjoy browsing the new website!

For the next few months the blog will be a bit quiet while we take some time off to search for where to lay our roots. We’ve talked about moving for years and now we’re off to narrow down the search! Session sneak peeks will still be posted on Facebook and I’ll be back to blogging full time in March. We’ll be kicking off being back from maternity leave with John & Charlotte’s wedding in Key West.
Happy Holidays everyone!
And, because every post needs an image, here’s a quick image from Seph & Chris’ session and of my own DJ TLC (and accompanying Crafton break dancers).

I was chatting with a client the other day (Hi Beth!) and realized that I haven’t done a Family Friday post since TLC was still a newborn. I’ve been soaking up this summer with my beautiful, and complete, family. We are so in love with Drools McFatkins, aka Griff the wonder baby, and had a blast a few weeks ago when one of my former brides (who is now a photographer) photographed the five of us…six, counting Summit. Here’s a little glimpse of what he’s been up to since March!
